Building Sector Sales Representative - Tiling and Flooring - South Africa

REQUIREMENTS
  • Matric, relevant qualification advantageous
  • Proven experience in sales within the building industry, preferably specializing in tiles or related products
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications
  • Independent worker, self-motivated to drive sales and achieve goals
  • Basic understanding of technical aspects related to tile detailing, construction, and architecture will be beneficial for interpreting architectural plans and recommending suitable tile solutions
  • Strong communication & negotiation skills
  • Ability to identify clients' needs and propose solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software is required for maintaining records, quotations, and managing client interactions
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle may be required
  • A developed client base in this industry, building relationships with architects, contractors etc.

DUTIES
  • Client Communication and Project Refinement establishing clients requirements
  • Market Research and Supplier Identification
  • Compiling a definitive list of products to present to client, liaise with sales coordinator, together manage the costing, stock availability & organise samples
  • Develop relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors, and other key stakeholders in the construction and design industries
  • Actively prospect new clients and identify opportunities for business growth
  • Provide expert product knowledge and guidance to clients on design tailored solutions
  • Collaborate with internal team, including customer service, logistics, and marketing
  • Process quotations, ensure accuracy before handing over to sales coordinator
  • Discuss tile detailing such as tile trims, cutting, and tiling layouts
  • Effectively instruct the sales & operations team on technical requirements per project
  • Read and interpret architectural plans and specifications
  • Extract accurate measurements from plans providing precise quotations to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure profitable deals
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new product developments, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote company products and expand market reach
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business transactions using CRM software
