Introduction International Chemical Manufacturer Description A business Analyst position has become available in the Finance Department in an International Chemical Manufacturing company, based in Hammarsdale KZN. The position is responsible for providing support to the Financial Manager, and the Financial Controller to maintain the integrity of the financial accounting function in accordance with sound accounting practices, legislative requirements and company policies and standards. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and relationship building skills, must be able to handle pressure, work independently and in a team, with a positive, self-motivated attitude. The successful candidate will have a forward-thinking outlook with cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity coupled with advanced problem-solving and risk management skills. Requirements: Minimum honours degree in Accounting CA (SA) qualification Big four articles advantageous 1-3 years post article experience SAP experience will be an advantage Strong computer literacy - MS Office and Business Systems Must be willing to work irregular hours and travel if required A Valid drivers license Duties: Assuming the role as business partner with sales, operations and other business functions in the provision of timely and accurate analytical information Support the General Manager and Finance Manager in improving business operational performance through fact based analysis Facilitating better decision making among managers Being the central source for finance based analytical information for local and global initiatives Focusing on strategic analysis, analysing forward looking trends whilst recognising past performances Departmental Management - manage Accounts Payable function Free Cash Flow Contribution - Managing working capital (accounts payable, receivable and fixed assets) Expenditure & Risk Management Manage Financial Reporting and Analysis function (month end/ journals/ analysis etc. Preparation of Annual Financial Statements in line with IFRS Assist Financial Manager with preparation and submission of annual budgets and quarterly forecasting Assist Financial Manager and Controller with effective Tax Management and Corporate Governance Assist with internal and external audit process Perform variance analysis and provide reasons for fluctuations in financial results Effective treasury/Cash Management and weekly cash forecasting Leading relevant projects Manage and implement continuous improvement and Projects Pro-actively raise profitability issues to management Preparation and timely distribution of financial information to management If you have not heard from us within 3 months of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.
