The purpose of a Business Intelligence Developer is to transform data into insight that can help to improve the value of the business. The Business Intelligence Developer generally work with the product owner , team leads and delivery manager , but may also work directly with senior management and clients to analy s e data and deliver reports according to the client's requirements. Design, develop and m aintain B usiness I ntelligence solutions . Translating business needs into technical specifications. Evaluating and improving existing BI systems. Develop code and build the reports according to the approved design and in accordance to the Organisations Education programming standards. P resenting information through reports and visualization s . Provide technical support to the product owners, business analysts and UI / UX designers. Developer Testing and Verification. P erforming quality assurance checks on reports dashboards prior . P rior to handing over to tester s , against the coding standards and design requirements. Correct all errors logged throughout the various testing phases and ensure quality coding standards and design requirements are met. Minimum 3 years Business Intelligence development experience BSc (Computer Science or Information Systems) /B Com (Information Systems)/Diploma in Information Systems or similar Working knowledge of BI technologies. Experience as a BI Developer. U n derstanding of business intelligence and data analytics techniques. U nderstanding of data visualization techniques . Basic u nderstanding of statistics . Key technical skills K nowledge of a report writing tool . E.g., Jasper Reports, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik V iew, S SR S SQL – Oracle or ANSI standard S QL D eveloper or similar Unix - Vi Ms-Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams Communication/Telephonic Skills Knowledge of ITS Integrator Student Administration System would be a plus. Experience working at a college or University would be an advantage.
