Business Manager - North Johannesburg

Contract: 6 Months To support the IB executive office in achieving and effecting plans on the overall strategic and operational objectives through the provision of high-quality analytical reporting, project management, reporting and administrative capability and by positively representing the business to internal and external stakeholders. Africa Region travel may be required Minimum qualification: Master's Degree (Business Commerce) Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration (MBA) preferred. Post Graduate Degree (Business Commerce) or Honours degree in Business Commerce 5 years' experience 3-4 years - Experience in Client Behavior's, Analytics, and reporting Investment Banking 3-4 years - Experience in CIB Client operating model, processes in Investment banking product suite are beneficial Business Support This role requires experience across a wide range of areas including but not limited to consulting, risk advisory, economic and financial risk advisory, risk operations for CIB, financial services knowledge including treasury and capital management, project management, business MI and reporting, administration, stakeholder management, finance, risk, and research. External relationships Suppliers Third Party Service Providers Manage the relationship External relationships External Auditors and Consultants Operational support the relationship Work environment Strategic contribution Partner with the Head IB Strategy Enablement to operationalise the strategic pillars and contribute to global enablement of strategic projects with a primary focus on South Africa. Contribute towards packaging and cascading/communicating the strategic decisions throughout the organisation. Policies, procedures, and processes Manage and ensure accessibility and effective implementation of policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned departmental activity so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled. Understand the impact of new regulatory requirements on the business and collaborate with business process management teams to update affected processes to maintain compliance. Operations management Manage the day-to-day operations of the IB teams within required performance parameters. Provide support to selected members of the senior leadership team to enhance the execution of their responsibilities. Contribute towards the enhancements of a stable IB platform. Manage all associated document management, governance and record keeping in line with CIB policies and procedures to maintain compliance and manage associated risks. Project management and Strategic Programs Coordinate and support selected Strategy Enablement Office strategic projects/initiatives from inception through planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and conclusion to ensure delivery of strategic objectives, on time and within budget and other constraints. Participate in strategic IB projects where required. Play the role of Product owner on selected strategic programs. Provide leadership to cross-functional teams in partnership with strategic programs feature teams to define requirements, priorities development, backlog, proactively identify and remove barriers, sign-off for overall quality and requirement. Know the Business strategy and could clearly formulate business priorities to the Feature team. The Product Owner sees through the process from end to end and is individually responsible for the delivery thereof. Research, analytics, and reporting Proactively monitor the internal and external environment and provide the IB Exec office with regular and ad hoc reports highlighting research findings, analytics, and insights on business performance (revenues, returns, pipeline, fee share and performance vs. targets), client interests, competitors, markets and industries trends and themes, opportunities, and concerns in relation to the business strategy and direction. Secretarial services Provide secretarial services on selected governance structures and decision-making committees on which the IB Head/ IB Strategy Enablement Head serves (e.g., IB ExCo/ Manco, BRCC,). This includes planning coordination, agenda planning, working with presenters to prepare prior to submission / presentation, material collection and distribution, attendee tracking and posting of minutes. Stakeholder engagement Where required, represent the Head IB/ IB Strategy and Enablement on certain cross business forums / committees and any party engagements. Communications Work with relevant functional experts to prepare the IB Exec team for internal and external communications and events, to facilitate clear and consistent messaging, optimal preparation, performance, and impact. Where required, advise on, develop, coordinate and / or compile the content for corporate events, conferences, media events, results presentations, speeches, interview, client meetings and related deliverables for the IB Exec team. Audit Coordination Engage with auditors to fit audit plans into operational calendars and pressures in IB. Coordinate audit evidence collection efforts for auditors or assurance teams. Participate in the creation of audit remediation plans. Put mechanisms in place to track the progress of the remediation activities in IB. Corporate Functions Liaison Build and maintain sound relationships with corporate functions including Risk, Legal, Finance, Procurement, IT and Compliance and work closely with them to optimise service deliver, compliance, and / or the secure the timeous delivery / achievement of all required activities (e.g., financial reporting, vendor performance management, legal compliance, business continuity measures). Contribute towards the negotiation of internal service level agreements where necessary. Continuous improvement/ Innovation Actively initiate and drive digitization of IB origination and execution activities where required. Experiment, learn fast and embed innovation ideas and the data science capability across IB. See IB central product development through to implementation. Contribute towards the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of IB operational processes, productivity, and cost reduction to enable alignment, effective communication, and effective collaboration across multiple stakeholders and to support the achievement of business excellence. Develop the high-level business cases for Understand the Banking industry and the impact that the economic and regulatory environment have on the organisation. Application of this knowledge in the assessment of risks and recommend appropriate control and quality frameworks. Project management Ability to plan, initiate, execute, control and close projects related to a relevant function. SEASONED - Applies concepts without requiring supervision, able to provide technical guidance when required. Written communication Ability to express ideas by means of clear and effective writing, to support professional communication internally and externally to the Bank. ADVANCED - Mastered the concept, able to act independently, provides guidance and training to others Process governance The ability to create mechanisms to ensure that designed processes are implemented correctly and that process changes are made thoughtfully, taking into consideration the impacts on people, other processes, and technology.
