Project Manager III The Strategic Operational Support (SOS) & Development candidate will have accountability to support project management on behalf of the Enterprise Operations and Service organization. The position requires a solid grasp of traditional project management skills with an emphasis on communications and relationship building. Identify, prioritize, and implement new projects and special projects to support organizational objectives. Responsible for establishing and monitoring key program metrics to gauge achieved performance and adjust as needed. As project owner, the candidate will conduct data analysis and provide summary details to key stakeholders. The project manager will measure, analyze, and implement changes to meet or exceed performance and financial targets. The ideal candidate will be well organized and experienced with process, driving positive change, enjoys team collaboration and being hands on with data. This role will be focused on business development and growth. The Project Manager will need to build relationships with all cross functional business partners across Guardian and our vendor partners. Forging these relationships will make it easier to stay on top of the customer experience on Guardian assets and end-to-end evaluation of programs. Major Opportunities and Decisions: Effective project management is the successful coordination of all aspects to a project, to bring about the desired results. The areas of focus mentioned below represent key best practices that the successful project manager must demonstrate: Relationship Management: The project manager must be client focused and is expected to manage relationships and expectations. Managing the expectations of and influencing several diverse stakeholders, through effective communication and well-tuned interpersonal skills, is critical to project success. Leadership: Throughout the project's life cycle, the project manager must also remain focused on driving the team and maintaining momentum. Acting as a change agent where necessary and motivating the project teams in support of meeting the project and business objectives are key competencies in this leadership role. Continuous Improvement: Determining which project management tools are best suited and effectively using those tools to increase the likelihood of project success is a key decision that project managers must continuously make when managing projects. Applying lessons learned from previous projects to current projects is another way to ensure continuous improvement. A Project Manager III will lead projects: With a complex, involved scope with dependencies across other epics or projects. Enterprise-wide across multiple departments and business areas With a project budget of $500K up to $5 million With a duration of 12 months The person in this role will also serve as a mentor and leader to other project managers on the team. Principal Accountabilities: Purpose Activity Scope Management Deliver assigned projects within scope. Determine appropriate methodology for implementation (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) Ensure the project scope/MVP is adequately defined and agreed upon by all stakeholders. Ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required to complete the project objectives. Works closely with project sponsors to ensure requirements are complete, accurate and measurable. Ensure project change requests for impacts to scope are reviewed and approved with sponsors. Schedule/Time Management Deliver assigned projects on time. Establish & maintain detailed master project work plan. Monitor project progress against baselined schedule. Ensure project discovery activities are completed in a timely manner. Ensure project change requests for impacts to schedule are reviewed and approved with sponsors. Financial Management Deliver project within budget. Ensure cost/benefit analysis is completed on all projects and tracked throughout the project with final reporting once the project is completed. Track planned costs vs actual costs and provide reporting variances to project team. Ensure project change requests for impacts to budget are reviewed and approved with sponsors. Quality & Risk Management Ensures that project approach deploys adequate quality assurance techniques in accordance with Guardian standards. Ensure that project deliverables - meet quality standards and are approved in a timely manner. Identify, track, manage and resolve/mitigate project issues and risks. Perform risk analysis and assist in the development of risk response plans. Resource Management Define resource needs based on detailed project schedules. Manage project team and promote proper resource management by assigning clear ownership in the project schedule. Monitors & communicates resource utilization (including negotiating resource contention) Manage competing interests of project resources and resolve any conflicts. Encourage teams to self-organize, be accountable and take ownership of assigned tasks. Communication Management Institute effective project related communication, including status reports, resource utilization, progress measurements and changes. Maintain an open and positive line of communication among business partners. Produce timely and accurate meeting minutes and status reports to all stakeholders. Escalate key issues and proposed solutions to stakeholders in an efficient and proactive manner. Follow up on status of tasks, milestones, and dependencies. Engage with Communications Team as applicable. Vendor Management (as applicable) Coordinate Sourcing and Legal engagement on projects involving a vendor. Oversee any vendor relationships required for a project. Center of Excellence Collaborate, propose, and champion implementation of ideas to evolve Project Management practices and standards to align with increasing business value. Identify opportunities and incorporate improvements on projects that drive increased productivity. Exhibits knowledge of own technical area and some understanding of related areas to deliver results. Perform preliminary stakeholder analysis and management. Remains client focused; Acts to expediently resolve client issues, including escalating to management as appropriate. Demonstrates understanding of client service metrics and their importance in achieving business goals; Define measurement criteria for success. Understands the priorities that drive deadlines; measures progress to deliver quality results on schedule. Forecasts and analyzes potential obstacles to success and seeks resolution before work is negatively impacted. Education and Experience: Education: This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Certifications: CAPM or PMP Certification & Lean Six Sigma Certification - Yellow, Green or Black Belt Experience: 7 years of formal project management experience Salary Range $66,130.00 - $108,640.00 The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
