Reference: JHB001765-CL-2An opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Buyer. You would be responsible for working closely with suppliers to find the correct stock required by the internal and external sales teams. This role requires someone who is buying-minded and curious about what is new in the market and has the ability to source alternative stock at the best price. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful purchasing experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships. Responsibilities: Work closely with internal and external sales teams to understand their material requirements Source new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing ones Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and on-time delivery of materials Continuously monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as necessary Stay up-to-date with market trends and new materials that may be beneficial to the company Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase efficiencies in the procurement process Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials Maintain accurate purchasing records and reports Participate in supplier audits and evaluations Knowledge of the PPE industry will be an advantage Requirements: Matric (Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field will be an advantage) 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management principles Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software systems Ability to travel as needed to meet with suppliers and attend industry events
