We are looking for a Buyer to join the team on a fixed term 6 month contract. Implement buying/purchasing activities across functional teams and different categories. Process requests for purchasing in line with the demand of the day. Source new suppliers if no suitable supplier is available on the database by following standard procedures in processing new and existing suppliers. Monitor, track and follow up on goods already purchased using the system and provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders. Purchase raw materials, packaging, equipment, machinery, professional services, spares, tooling, etc. in line with purchasing request. Carry out supplier evaluations by getting business to rate suppliers, analyse the data and report to business and procurement department. Collaborate with others to address non-performance of suppliers and communicate with supplier for proposed solutions. Implement inbound and outbound logistics including imported goods, customs, and transport. Request quotations and arrange pick up dates for replenishing, repairs etc. of any item in the organisation. Monitor supplier payments and follow up on outstanding invoices. Strong negotiation skills in pricing, payment terms, delivery terms, and lead times, etc Participate in quality initiatives and corrective actions to address non-conformance to standards. BBBEE strategy execution/compliance and reporting on portfolio spend. Procurement Committee Reporting (preparation of submissions for approval to procure). Internal stakeholder management (turnaround times on queries/relationship management) Diploma / NQF level 6 in Procurement / Supply Chain / Logistics / Purchasing is essential Bachelors Degree / NQF level 7 in Procurement / Supply Chain / Logistics / Purchasing is preferred 6 Years experience in Buying and Procurement, with supervisory / overseeing experience is essential MCIPS - Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply is preferred Apply Now
