Join Our Client's Team as a Buyer in the Steel Manufacturing Industry Are you a skilled and experienced buyer with a passion for procurement in the steel manufacturing sector? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Buyer, responsible for optimizing the sourcing, pricing, and conditions of our raw materials. If you have the technical qualifications, industry experience, and a proven track record in procurement, we want to hear from you Responsibilities - Read, comprehend, and summarize raw material requirements from engineering drawings. - Collaborate with Engineering and Sales teams to understand equipment and material needs. - Source raw materials ensuring optimal pricing and conditions. - Confirm approval on orders from authorized signatories before processing. - Process purchase orders promptly within the system. - Expedite late deliveries or effectively manage ETA'S. - Conduct stock planning and forecasting. - Manage supplier relationships effectively. - Conduct cost analysis by tracking negotiated rates and market trends. - Monitor markets, industry movements, and regulatory changes for informed procurement actions. - Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Qualifications and Desired Skills - Technical qualification is a must. - Relevant Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management (beneficial). - Minimum 10 years of working experience in Procurement within the steel manufacturing industry. - Technical Purchasing experience in steel is a distinct advantage. - Knowledge of Syspro. - Proficient with Microsoft programs. - Excellent negotiator. - Honest, dependable, and punctual. - Results-driven with factual strategy plans. - High attention to detail and a diligent approach to work in any environment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
