An exciting opportunity has presented itself to appoint a suitably qualified candidate into the position of Buyer(Inventory): Group Procurement and Supply Chain . This position is based at Lance Laboratories in Richmond, Auckland Park (JHB Central). Position Summary The Inventory Buyer will be responsible for Warehouse stock order release, oversee the stock return process, handle daily queries from support teams and facilitating the expediting process of the overdue back orders. They will also be responsible to escalate constant updates to order entry discrepancies and delays to the Supply chain division and respective role-players, and fulling a support role to the demand planners. • Release daily demand planning purchase orders on the purchasing system D365 in line with Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) • Generate return purchase orders with supplier for approved stock return requests • Effectively management of the daily purchase order transmission and supplier expediting reports • Escalate product master file discrepancies to the responsible stakeholders • Attend to daily enquiries related to stock orders and urgent requests • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and support departments • Ensure backorders are addressed in a timely manner and all relevant stakeholders are informed of overdue statuses • Handle all queries from the regional warehouses, regional buyers and suppliers to ensure resolution is found and communicated effectively • Be the single point of contact for the warehouses, regional buyers and suppliers in handling any requirements regarding stock, equipment and service related purchases • Engage with demand planners with critical and overdue orders for possible transfer assessment • Assist demand planners with inventory management activities • Escalate supplier non-conformances to the responsible parties for their alert and prompt action. Qualifications Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification Supply Chain Qualification preferable Experience 3-5 years Pharma/Diagnostics buying experience(Direct Material) Relevant qualification Relevant Job Knowledge The typical demands of this job, which are outside of the direct control of the post holder, are the following: • Prioritisation and knowing where to refer what type of matters.
