Their primary objective is the installation of new services, upgrading of old services and maintenance of current services for our clients. Cable technicians are responsible for inspecting, analysing and the installation of equipment and troubleshooting of any problems within the cable system. Ensuring adherence to all processes within the client environment and the maintenance of a high degree of client satisfaction across all assignments. Be responsible for acting as a bridge between the client and our operation delivery team. REQUIRED LEARNING Grade 12 CommScope certification (covering Cable brand Molex & Krone) Cabling certification – Maxxim and/or Molex FOA certificate (Fibre splicing) Computer Literate – Microsoft – Outlook/Word/Excel (Essential) A and N certification would be advantageous VOIP experience would be advantageous Minimum of 5 years Cable technician experience would be advantageous Must have own vehicle (must be open to travelling to various client sites) Must have valid SA driver’s license Must be in good health Must be willing to work overtime & weekends (from time to time) KEY JOB OUTPUTS Manage the business relationship with the client to ensure mutual trust & open communication Takes service calls and performs specific assignments as directed by the Call Planners Maintain SLA requirements (both internal and external) Ensure accurate completion of job cards and Travel Logbooks Work independently without supervision Program entry level systems as per specifications in CCTV, Access Control and Burglar alarms Installation of cabling infrastructure and cabling standards Communication of job status and ensure necessary updates done via Call Planners Complete job cards after every installation/service or maintenance Keep stock up to date and assist store man with regular accurate boot stock count Quality workmanship and clean place of work Ensuring Service Level Agreements are met Escalate customer issues fast and efficiently to ensure great service delivery and excellent communication Joining and maintaining of Copper Cables Splicing and terminating of all main optic fibre cables Building off new cable routing Testing of all new copper & fibre optic cable assignments after completion The investigation and repair of faulty services Cutover and remaking of communication joints Effective management of test and splicing equipment Comply with all health and safety requirements Health records are up to date and valid licences Ensuring work permits are secured before commencing any work Installation of CAT5/CAT6 cabling including testing with fluke, labelling of data points CAT3 installation for PABX (Configurations advantageous – NEC/Phillips brands used) CORE COMPETENCIES Excellent written and verbal Skills Positive attitude and ethical Excellent organisation skills Excellent problem-solving skills An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints Ability to multi- task Good Listening skills Team player Ability to perform under pressure Able to work independently and be self-disciplined APPLICATIONS/ENQUIRIES Email your CV and motivational letter to: employmentitnaledi.co.za POPIA Disclaimer: By sending your CV to the above-mentioned e-mail address you agree to: The processing of your personal information and sharing it with third parties for verifications.
