Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer with 3D CAD modeling and draughting experience in sheet metal design required for client in the automotive production industry. Part of multidisciplinary engineering team reporting to Production Manager Solve production related issues by modifying existing mechanical designs for production improvement or evolution Standardise and improve production methods Sheet metal design modifications to existing parts in CAD Request quotes from suppliers Place orders through procurement department Prepare drawings, build mockups or prototypes to prove a concept and transfer knowledge to factory staff Analyse existing products and propose changes to improve quality, product performance and cost reduction Analyse production methods i.e. brazing, welding, general assembly to ensure quality consistency Design welding and brazing jigs Liaise with suppliers regarding product accuracy and updating supplier drawings Team management Project management Document management - keep track of part revisions and issue new revisions BEng Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering CAD design (sheet metal parts 2D and 3D), full assemblies (models) - detailed technical drawings and models for product development CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Manufacturing/production environment experience Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat and fluid transfer, and materials science for component suitability Six Sigma/Kaizen - lean manufacturing Process control Finite Element Analysis (FEA) knowledge MS Office Suite, Google Workspace (GSuite), MS Project, Gantt Chart Tools Own transport (minimal travel) R30 000.00 Cost to Company per month (No benefits)
