CAD Technician - Water/ Hydrologic and Hydraulic - South Africa

Because of our growth we are now excited to be adding a CAD Technician to our new Johannesburg Water/Hydrologic and Hydraulic Team Develop, implement, and document data management workflows, specifications, and processes Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects related to site design, water, sewer, drainage, and roadway Use AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD to develop engineering and design documents. Communicate with design team about concepts, data, and specific needs associated with the completion of design deliverables. Manage personal task assignments and adheres to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks. Perform basic calculations to analyze and design civil system components using Civil 3D or MicroStation. Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity. Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions. Create a storm design and profiles in pipe networks. Participate in firm-wide quality initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications / Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent Associate Degrees in Computer-Aided drafting and Design is advantageous, but not required. Must have 2 years related experience. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret basic technical documents. Must be able to apply mathematical concepts. Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships. Must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community. Must have Microsoft Office suite skills. Must possess a highly proficient expertise in and AutoCAD software Preferred to have experience in AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD software or Microstation. Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment. Must be able to occasionally reach and bend. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
