Responsibilities: Conduct daily cash counts at the beginning and end of each shift to verify the accuracy of cash registers and reconcile any discrepancies. Ensure compliance with cash handling policies and procedures, including verifying cash, checks, and credit card transactions. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities in cash transactions promptly and accurately. Monitor and maintain accurate records of petty cash transactions and disbursements. Assist in preparing daily cash reconciliation reports and submitting them to the appropriate management personnel. Conduct regular audits of stock levels to ensure accuracy and prevent stock shrinkage or loss. Perform stock checks and inspections to identify damaged, expired, or misplaced items and take appropriate action to rectify discrepancies. Collaborate with the store management team to implement strategies for improving cash handling efficiency and reducing stock loss. Provide training and support to store staff on cash handling procedures and stock management best practices. Assist with other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to support the overall operation of the store. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; additional education or training in accounting, finance, or retail management preferred. Proven experience working in a cash handling or stock control role within the retail industry, preferably in the FMCG sector. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and reconcile cash transactions. Proficiency in using electronic cash registers, POS systems, and other retail software applications. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet business requirements. Knowledge of retail inventory management principles and procedures. Integrity and honesty in handling cash and confidential information.
