CFO - Sandton - Johannesburg
The CFO is responsible for accurate and timely execution and management of the finance function as well as providing strategic direction to the business alongside direct responsibility for cash management, strategic analysis, risk management and scenario planning.
The CFO will lead key financial business planning activities including responsibility for financial controls, reporting, analysis and budgeting and forecasting.
Main duties and responsibilities
Develop, plan and execute the business financial strategy creating a financial operating model that is robust, scalable and designed to support growth.
Support the business growth and profitability goals, driving a commercial outlook across the business.
Organise and manage the finance department in order to ensure the best execution of accurate financial controls and reporting. This includes full responsibility for the following:
o Full accounting function
o Tax planning, submission and compliance
o Treasury and cash management. Lead liquidity management and manage cash flows including detailed cash flow forecasting
o Reporting. Monthly shareholder reporting, management accounts and board reports. Full responsibility for external audit and any other statutory and regulatory reporting
o Budgeting and forecasting. Management of the budgeting process and preparation of monthly forecasts to ensure the business is meeting its financial objectives
o Systems and controls. Implement and maintain systems, procedures and controls for efficient and accurate accounting, analysis and reporting
As a key advisor to the CEO, support strategy development, setting financial objectives, risk management and business analysis:
o Review and analyse financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities
o Creating, monitoring and analysing financial and operational metrics that track performance and provide insights
o Provide accurate, complete and understandable financial information to department heads and the executive team
o Financial modelling, scenario planning and cost-benefit analysis
Experience and qualifications
CA (SA)
At least 12-15 years post-qualifying experience with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role
Relevant experience in events, ticketing or entertainment industry is beneficial - high transactions volume environment required
A proven capability to apply themselves with a commercial and strategic perspective to a technology-enabled, complex operating environment
Extensive knowledge of financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
Experience in managing a full finance function.
Competent in engaging with and presenting to executives, shareholders and board members the ability to conceptualise strategic objectives; interpret complex financial and accounting data into useful information for a wide audience; present financial performance and drive shareholder value.
Strategic, autonomous and commercially minded individual. Must be analytical with sound interpersonal abilities.
Team player with the willingness and capability to act as key support to the CEO
Salary - R1.8 - R2.2 mill pa CTC
