Chief Financial Officer - Stellenbosch

How you'll role As the CFO you will oversee financial reporting and controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing budgets, cash flow, conducting financial planning and analysis, creating scenario models, providing advice to the CEO on corporate finance matters, structuring and planning capital and taxes, managing debt and equity financing, and handling corporate governance. Beyond being the financial steward, the CFO will also offer guidance to the CEO and the Board of Directors regarding the overall strategic direction of the company. The perfect candidate for this role should combine financial diligence with entrepreneurial zeal, demonstrate robust analytical abilities, and harbour a sincere passion for African business. Possessing a spirit of adventure and a good sense of humour would also be advantageous. Additionally, the position may involve occasional travel, so flexibility is essential. What you'll do Strategy, leadership and management Managing, monitoring, and motivating a high-performance finance team, including those within the operating subsidiaries Breeding operational excellence through best practice recruitment, training, and performance management processes Contributing to overall business executive management and leadership programs Operational process improvement Review and improve finance workflows and processes Systemise processes where applicable Business development, financial performance and analysis Interrogating and overseeing new territorial expansions Evaluating new products and innovations from a commercial perspective Produce financial analysis and insights using financial metrics Collaborate internally on profit modelling and product pricing work streams Assume ownership of corporate finance, fundraising and the group-wide treasury functions Advise the CEO and Board on capital and entity structures Assume responsibility for tax optimisation, including transfer pricing policies Financial reporting and control Manage the teams that produce management accounts and financial reporting, including related reconciliations and substantiation processes Advise and report on cost control initiatives across the group Ownership of tax, exchange control, corporate governance and other regulatory compliance Oversight of production of accurate and audited annual financial statements Oversight and input of internal financial controls Oversights of bank account access and maintenance Ownership of group wide annual budgeting and monthly cash forecasting Financial operations Management of payroll functions and systems Optimisation of journal entry, bookkeeping, clearing and suspense account processes Optimisation and systemisation of procurement, expense approval and accounts payable processes Ongoing review of the accounting system (general ledger) to ensure it is fit for purpose, as well as the maintenance of the chart of accounts and other finance structures Oversight of cash management, ensuring all businesses are funded and managing cash efficiently What you'll need Postgraduate degree in accounting, CA(SA), or equivalent Experience as a CFO (or equivalent) for 5 years Flexibility for occasional travel Apply here - https://crayon.jobs/jobs/south-africa/stellenbosch/cfo-r20-000-bounty/1132 Apply Now
