Title: Chief Geologist Location: Mining Industry - LP RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a highly experienced Chief Geologist to join their mining company in LP. The Chief Geologist will be responsible for overseeing all geological activities related to mining operations, including ore body exploration, resource estimation, and mine planning. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in geology, mining operations, and geotechnical engineering. Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of geologists and support staff to ensure efficient and effective geological operations Identify potential mining sites and conduct detailed exploration and evaluation of ore bodies Develop resource models and estimate mineral reserves to support mine planning and production scheduling Collaborate with mine engineers to optimize mine designs and production processes Monitor and analyze geological data to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards Implement and maintain best practices in geological mapping, sampling, and assay analysis Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders Stay current on industry trends and developments to drive continuous improvement in geological practices Requirements: BSc Honors Degree/BTech Degree in Geology 5 - 8 years extensive practical experience in Geology in a mining environment Accreditation and Registration with Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA) and SACNASP Strong knowledge of mineral deposit types, geological mapping techniques, and resource estimation methodologies Experience with mine planning software and GIS tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and mentor a team Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Benefits: Salary: Negotiable Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) Paid Time Off (PTO) If you meet the above requirements and want to make a career-changing move, apply today by either filling in the online application form or emailing your CV to RPO Recruitment at miningrporecruitment.us Alternatively, you are also welcome to contact Anzaan Kennedy on LinkedIn or call her on 021 180 0776.
