Stibium Mining and its investment partners acquired the historic Consolidated Murchison gold-antimony mine in South Africa with the support of Core. Core assisted Stibium with on-site support in the recovery and retreatment of gold tailings, and with expansion strategies to ramp up gold and antimony production on high antimony / gold tailings. We are looking for a Chief Smelter to join our Metallurgy department in Gravelotte – Limpopo. Monitor critical gold-room parameters. Monitor gold-room area for any deviations and report immediately to Metallurgical Supervisor. Maintain a strict adherence to safety policies and procedures. Liaise with line Metallurgical Supervisor regarding daily plan and product changes. Monitor and report on any security issues in and around the Gold Room. Develop and maintain good bookkeeping standards for Gold bearing materials. Motivate, encourage and train Smelt House Assistant. Control the usage and availability of fluxes and related materials. Recording all bullion weights and reporting of any process changes or problems that might occur. Enforce good housekeeping standards. Prepared to do stand-by and work long extended hours, if required. Be prepared to submit to polygraph testing if required. This role report directly to the Metallurgical Supervisor Must be in a possession of Grade 12 At least 3 years site-based experience in Gold Room and or Gold Plant experience. Gold smelting knowledge and experience would be a distinct advantage. Knowledge of Elution circuits, particularly Zadra. Good skills in report writing, spreadsheets, cost control, planning. Ability to communicate with manager and understand gold processing methods. Leadership qualities including trustworthy character, team leader, communication, business sense, vision, good interpersonal, and record keeping skills.
