We are seeking an exceptional Claims Handler who thrives on delivering outstanding client service, cutting red tape, and ensuring that every claim gets the attention it deserves. Job Description:As a Claims Handler, you'll be the first point of contact for clients and brokers, ensuring that claims are handled efficiently and accurately. Your role will involve validating claims, negotiating settlements, and identifying potentially fraudulent activities. You'll also be responsible for managing relationships with external vendors and experts, ensuring that all claims are resolved in a timely manner. Duties and Responsibilities: Capture and validate all new claims. Act as the primary point of contact for clients and brokers, ensuring first call resolution. Deliver exceptional client service, exceeding customers' expectations. Verify data and documentation to ensure correct settlements. Attend to validation and first call actions within 1 working hour. Achieve minimum targets and maintain appropriate diaries. Identify potential non-disclosure and misrepresentation cases. Manage claims handling process to achieve timely settlement. Identify and resolve any issues relating to claims. Negotiate effectively within agreed mandate limits. Minimize cash settlements by managing preferred suppliers. Demonstrate effective communication across internal and external teams. Collect and manage timelines on salvage claims. Meet set deadlines and deliver strategic results. Attend weekly team meetings and participate in one-on-one discussions. Align behavior with organizational culture and values. Collaborate and work closely with all role players. Identify and recommend areas/ways to improve processes. Comply with corporate governance policies and procedures. Proactively suggest improvements in customer services Build relationships with all stakeholders, including brokers and service providers. Manage own development to increase competencies. Adhere to company policies and procedures and contracted performance agreement. Qualifications and Experience: Matric is an essential requirement. FAIS Credits (as per FAIS requirement) Must be Fit & Proper in terms of the FAIS Act Regulatory Exam: Representatives Must not be debarred with FSB. 2 – 5 years’ experience in personal lines claims Full function claims administration experience Experience in the financial services industry or short-term insurance industry. PC literate with Microsoft Office products skills Sound knowledge of Insurance principles Websure system experience will be an advantage. Attributes: Planning, organizing, and follow-up.
