Cleaning Supervisor - Durban North
As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met within our facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate the activities of the cleaning staff to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment. You will work closely with the cleaning team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate the work of cleaning staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and training as needed.Develop and implement cleaning schedules, ensuring that all areas are cleaned regularly and according to established standards.Inspect facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with sanitation regulations.Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and ordering supplies as needed.Handle any maintenance or repair issues related to cleaning equipment and facilities.Monitor and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.Address any complaints or concerns related to cleanliness promptly and effectively.Maintain records of cleaning activities, including schedules, inspections, and inventory.Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning activities with operational needs and special events.Stay informed about industry best practices and new developments in cleaning techniques and products.Qualifications and Skills:Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a cleaning or janitorial setting.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.Understanding of safety regulations and procedures.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in cleaning or facilities management is a plus.Working Conditions:This position may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.Exposure to cleaning chemicals and fumes may be required.Work hours may vary based on operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.This job description outlines the primary duties and qualifications expected of a Cleaning Supervisor.
