Requirements: Diploma in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating Room Nursing Science is compulsory Post basic qualification / busy studying: Nursing Education & Management will be an advantage Minimum of 5 years theatre scrub experience is compulsory Previous Management experience in an operating room will be an advantage Outstanding interpersonal – and excellent communication skills Fluency in English and another language (Fully bilingual) Computer literate Own transport and valid driver's licence High energy levels / tolerance of stress / assertiveness Quality patient care orientation Willing to scrub and do calls as needed The main purpose of this position: To ensure high quality standards and training in the operating rooms through compliance with professional and ethical practice. Duties & Responsibilities: Focus will be on training and quality Assisting the Deputy Nursing Service Manager as needed Planning, implementing and evaluating effective patient care and related activities Managing, supervising and delegation of nursing staff within their scope of practice Liaise and problem solving with members of the multi-disciplinary team and staff members Compile, implement, monitor and evaluate in terms of training and development of nursing staff Ensure that high quality levels of service are adhered to Enforce and evaluate theatre staff performance Helps in determining goals and effectively manages recourses to achieve the goals in the unit
