Cluster Store Manager - CPT (Constantia / Canal Walk / Somerset West) - Johannesburg

Carrol Boyes is a dynamic and leading homeware retailer known for its premium products and exceptional customer service. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cluster Store Manager to oversee our stores located in Constantia, Canal Walk and Somerset West Cape Town and drive sales while maintaining operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Store Manager, you will play a critical role in managing our retail operations and ensuring the success of our store. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales revenue while effectively managing expenses.
  • Conduct weekly stock takes and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, and following up on work results.
  • Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.
  • Prepare the annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers, ensuring exceptional service.
  • Ensure the availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts and maintaining inventories.
  • Secure merchandise by monitoring security systems and maintaining a safe and clean store environment for employees and customers.
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all legal requirements.
  • Set up effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable.
  • Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales, interpreting trends to facilitate planning.
  • Respond to customer complaints and comments, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Stay informed about market trends in the retail industry and monitor local competitors' activities to stay competitive.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Diploma in Retail Management – advantageous.
  • 5 years of sales experience.
  • 2 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or Manager in a high-end retail environment - Essential.
  • Solid homeware retail product experience.
  • Visual merchandising experience.
  • Experience leading a team of 5 or more employees for at least 2 years.
