CNC Programmer/Setter Introduction A manufacturing company located in Silverton is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter with a passion for precision machining and a drive for efficiency to join their team. Ultimately you will be responsible for ensuring efficient production of products which meet client specifications. Job Purpose The Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) programmer is responsible for the programming, setting-up and operating of CNC machines. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering design drawings, planning machining strategy and steps, programming the CNC machine, monitoring the manufacturing process, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired client supplied specifications are met. Minimum education (essential): Matric Certificate from a technical institution Minimum education (desirable): Relevant trade diploma or certificate Minimum applicable experience (years): 1-2 years: Junior 2-5 years: Intermediate 5 years: Senior Required nature of experience: Programming and Setting of CNC machines Programming on Fanuc and/or Siemens controls Engineering drawing interpretation Experience with EdgeCam, or other computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software, will be preferred Skills and Knowledge Required: Knowledge of operating of milling and/or turning machinery Knowledge of operating of measurement equipment Cutting conditions of different materials Ability to manufacture parts to tight tolerances up to 0.01mm Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Understanding of and ability to use EdgeCam (preferred), or other CAM software Knowledge of G-code programming Other requirements: Strong attention to detail Willingness to take ownership of their work Ability to work independently, while always being aware of their contribution to the team and company at large Ability to plan and prioritise their individual actions to meet team deadlines Physically fit, being able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects English (Essential) Afrikaans (Preferred) See Description See Description Apply Now
