Responsible for the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities. They need to know how to properly combine ingredients, apply heat, and use equipment like ovens and mixers to create delicious dishes that look good as well as taste good, following MSC approved recipes. The Pastry Commis Chef will support the kitchen team in the planning, cooking, and presentation of all required food items from the pastry kitchen, as set out by the Chef de Parties and Sous Chefs. Responsible for creating desserts, pastries, and other sweet treats. Deep understanding of both traditional and modern cooking techniques. Prepare pastry products as specified by the Executive Chef and using methods that assure food safety and high quality. Check temperatures and condition of all material in the section. Follows all food safety protocols in the pastry department in compliance with MSC Food safety standards. Ensures that food is properly stored, sets up the workstations and keeps it clean at all times. Prepare the daily mise en place and food production. Minimize food spoilage. Comply with international HACCP. Proficient English, oral and written skills. Proven successful experience for at least 2 contracts in a similar position in a major hotel operating under International Food Safety Standards, Pastry shop or a cruise ship. Apply Now
