Compliance Monitoring Officer - Woodstock

One of South Africa's leading furniture and appliance retailers, has the following career opportunity for an individual with the necessary competence level, experience, and drive. Duties (but not limited to): Develop and implement a compliance monitoring plan to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Conduct periodic reviews and audits of various business processes, transactions, and activities to identify potential compliance risks or deficiencies. Analyze data and documentation to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and procedures in place to mitigate compliance risks. Identify trends, patterns, or anomalies in compliance-related data and report findings to management for corrective action. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance officers, legal counsel, and operational teams, to address identified issues and implement remedial measures. Provide guidance and support to business units on compliance-related matters, including training sessions and workshops. Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure that monitoring activities remain up-to-date and relevant. Document monitoring activities, findings, and recommendations in clear and concise reports for management and regulatory purposes. Assist in responding to inquiries and requests from regulatory authorities regarding compliance monitoring activities. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing compliance processes and promoting a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization. Requirements: Grade 12 Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in compliance or a relevant certification (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) is advantageous. Solid understanding of South African regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to retail operations Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and identify compliance risks and trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Experience: Proven experience in compliance monitoring or auditing, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
