We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Computer Applications Technology (CAT) Teacher to join our educational institution. The CAT Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lessons in computer applications, software development, and information communication technology. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in computer science, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Develop and update curriculum materials for Computer Applications Technology courses, ensuring alignment with CAPS standards. Plan and prepare comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities that cater to the diverse needs of learners. Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in computer applications, including topics such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web design. Facilitate hands-on activities and projects to learners' practical skills in using various software applications and hardware devices. Assess student progress through various methods, including exams, projects, and practical assignments. Provide constructive feedback to learners to support their learning and development. Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, while managing learner behaviour and promoting mutual respect. Encourage learners' participation in extra-curricular activities related to computer applications technology, such as coding clubs, Olympiads, and technology competitions. Teaching certification or qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.) is preferred. Prior teaching experience in Computer Applications Technology or related subjects. Proficiency in a variety of software applications (Word processing, Spreadsheets, Databases) and Programming languages (HTML or CSS). Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Passion for education and a commitment to learner success. High level of organization, professionalism, and dedication to continuous improvement. Knowledge of a school administration system (D6, SASAMS, Adam, Ed Admin, etc.) is advantageous Negotiable based on experience.
