Under certain circumstances the Concession Field Assistant will be required to assist with the night camp set ups.
The concession vehicle will be washed and parked in its designated parking
The Assistant will check in with the Concession Manager
The Assistant will commence with the drag/ leave for the drag to start the drag 30 minutes before gate closing times.
Radio in tracks & sightings of high priority game e.g. Big 5 plus Wild dog & cheetah on the game drive channel
Meander back through the concession clear any debries in the road and reporting on sightings for the guiding department, as well as ant damage to roads or a need to mow the roads to the Concession Manager.
Check rainfall at the 5 rain gauges and WhatsApp it to the Concession Manager, Head Guide and Assistant Head Guide.
Document and report any carcasses discovered.
Requirements:
Chainsaw and brush cutter operation.
Tracking abilities: Tracks & Signs qualification, basic tailing qualification and man tracking qualification.
FGASA
Ability to use compass/GPS
An ability to communicate on the radio
No criminal record.
An understanding and experience in fighting wildland fires.
A basic knowledge of water pumps and pipes
Knowledge and experience with fencing, specifically electric fencing
An ability to recognize and report problem animals to Concession Manager and/or Head Guide
Physical fitness and an ability to walk and work in extreme conditions
