Responsibility, supervision and motivation of personnel in order to complete installation, maintenance and assessment work and contracts in a cost effective manner, meeting completion dates, ensuring quality of work and directing the personnel in health, safety and environmental matters. Interaction with customer base as well as complete administration of the site work carried out in the Gauteng region. 1. TURNKEY CONTRACT, MAINTENANCE AND ASSESSMENT WORK Ensure complete familiarity and understanding of the project documentation, contract document and tender submitted. Planning: Project, safety, site work, sub-contractors etc. Site establishment. Control civil contractor and subordinates and implement overall instructions given by Project/ Construction Manager. Installation of cable and associated equipment to the contract requirements and including pulling of cable. Co-ordinate labour and material requirements. Fulfil maintenance requirements for all site vehicles and machinery. Monitor and control site security. Co-ordinate fluid filled cable maintenance work and circuit assessments when required. Assist with final testing, commissioning and handover of contracts under instruction from the Project Manager. 2. ADMINISTRATION All contract related documentation (excluding invoicing). Updating Microsoft Projects completion requirement and forward to Project/Construction Manager. Weekly time sheet requirements in terms of local labour participation goals. Quality, safety, management systems. Environmental management, systems contract requirements. Assemble all necessary contract documentation for handover as a maintenance instruction to the customer. 3. TEAM CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT Motivate subordinates through participation in decisions and communication regarding matters that concern them. 4. QUALITY Implement QA procedures and make use of resources in order to achieve and maintain the specified quality. Encourage quality awareness for work among the personnel in the section with appropriate instructions, communications and training in accordance with procedure. Continuously monitor the quality of processes and systems by means of analysis and initiate and verify corrective and preventative action if required. Implement documentation of the quality management system within scope of control. 5. SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT Overall responsibility and legal liability in terms of site personnel and safe working practices on site. Direct the work force in safe working practices and housekeeping as laid down in the Construction Regulations code of practice, the OHS Act and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Continuously upgrade subordinates safety, health and environmental awareness and competence through training as per the training procedure. Investigate safety, health and environmental related issues in terms of the NOSA MBO code and ISO 14001 to prevent future accidents / incidents. Implement the documentation of the Environmental management system scope of control. 6. BUDGET Assists in and provides input for the contract expense budget and ensure that expenses are within agreed tolerance limits of budget. Continuously control material wastage, scrap and assets and reduce cost by implementing cost cutting techniques. Control performance and costs of sub-contractors. 7. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Attend site meetings. Liase with client. Liase with Community Liaison Officer and local ward representatives. Complete work summary sheets. Liase with head office with regard to site operations. Report writing for weekly site meetings. Necessary health and safety. APPLICATION CRITERIA: Grade 12 / N3 (4 Subject Certificate with Mathematics and Science) Qualified Artisan (Electrician) or Electrical National diploma or BSC/BTEC Electrical Engineering EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIREMENT: At least 5 year's HV cable installation experience in a supervisory role HV cable Jointing experience and certification will be beneficial Project Management Diploma will be beneficial Construction Regulations certification required Formal health and safety accreditation or training certificate will be beneficial COMPUTER LITERACY: Experience in Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel Experience in Microsoft Projects Must be capable of report writing Apply Now
