We are currently recruiting for a Perishables Returns Controller to join our dynamic team. Job Role: To control and manage the returns department team, in order to provide excellent service to the DC, retailers and suppliers. Organise, evaluate, and manage the daily workload against available resources. Provide leadership, guidance, and training to optimize team performance. Ensure that departmental controls and processes are followed. Develop and ensure achievement of department objectives. Manage returns department processes on daily bases. Report on costs/ expenses compared to budgets. Guide and assist with uplift processes in the Reverse Logistics department and issue uplift numbers when required. Create and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that all claims are investigated and processed within twenty-four hours. Manage supplier stock recoveries and damaged goods sales. Develop department BOPS/Policies and inter-departmental SLAs in line with Company Procedures. Minimize shrinkage within the warehouse. Maintain high standard of housekeeping on daily basis. Conduct meetings, and performance reviews with the team. Compile Management reports. Maintain and conduct grievances and disciplinary procedures when required. Ensure effective handling of Suppliers and Retailer complaints/queries. Compile trend analysis reports on Retailers and Supplier behavior. Ensure all machine operators are licensed. Process staff timecards on the computer system. Matric certificate. Academic qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain advantageous. 3-5 years' Controller/Team Leader experience. Self-starter and must be able to function effectively in a pressurized environment. High level of numeracy and analytical skills. Sound interpersonal & leadership skills. Computer literacy essential. SAP experience/knowledge advantageous. Management/Team Leader experience in a warehouse environment advantageous. Flexible and willing to go an extra mile. Proper understanding of warehouse processes and practices essential.
