As a Controls Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software and tools for embedded systems, particularly in automotive or mobile equipment applications. You will interface software with various sensors, including pressure, proximity, angular, and temperature sensors, and develop code to control valves, motors, and other industrial devices. Using a structured systems engineering approach, you will create software to control heavy construction equipment, enhancing simplicity of operation, troubleshooting, and operator functionality to minimize downtime. Your role includes distilling product requirements into specifications, design, and test plans, completing controller/PLC and HMI programming, and performing unit and integration testing. You will lead cross-functional software and HMI design reviews, resolve field and warranty issues, collaborate with the Technical Publications Department, and perform engineering calculations during the design cycle. Job experience and Skills Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering Minimum of five years of experience in the design and development of industrial or mobile equipment control software. Proficiency in C, C++, and Structured Text programming is essential, as well as a solid understanding of network protocols like CAN, Ethernet, and Wireless 802. 11.
