Salary: R1,7 1,85 million
Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence
- Blasting Certificate of Competence
- 8 years' experience as a shift supervisor/miner in the mining industry
- 3 years' experience as a Mine Overseer in the mining industry
- Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering (advantageous)
- Valid driver's license (Code B/EB)
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and implementing safety protocols to ensure the safety of all workers in the mine.
- Managing and monitoring daily mining operations to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Supervising and providing direction to mining staff, including miners, technicians, and other personnel.
- Ensuring that all mining equipment is maintained in good working condition.
- Ensuring that all mining operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Managing the budget for mining operations, controlling costs, and reporting on financial performance.
- Leading investigations into any accidents or incidents that occur in the mine.
- Preparing and submitting regular reports on mining activities, production levels, and safety incidents.
- Developing and implementing emergency response plans, and coordinating emergency drills and training.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new technologies or methods.
