Coordinator: Nanoscience Programme - Part-time - Bellville

The National Nanoscience Post-Graduate Teaching and Training Platform seeks to appoint a part-time coordinator at 25 hours per week. The Platform runs an MSc training programme amongst four universities. The programme is funded by the Department of Science and Innovation and has been in operation for 12 years. The hub is at UWC where the students spend nine months doing coursework before going to their home institutions to complete a mini-thesis. The hub at UWC requires a coordinator who can play a major role in: Organising the lectures Handling the student mark administration. Liaising with the students on their planning and running cost expenses. Assisting the Director with arranging Steering Committee meetings and Advisory Board meetings and acting as minute taker at these meetings. Assisting with links to Industry and placing of interns as well as the legal contracts for the interns. Coordinating with the administrators at the hubs. Enquiry Management; Marketing & Recruitment; Financial Administration including budget administration and procurement; General Administration and Reporting including office administration, assisting document management, liaising with service providers, e.g. Technical Services, Audio Visual Services, etc. Minimum Requirements A degree in a relevant subject and three to five years relevant experience Very good verbal and written communication skills Expert user of computer office applications Good writing and minute-taking skills In your application, you are encouraged to highlight your strengths and include anything else you deem exceptional and outstanding to be considered by the selection panel.
