Description We are seeking a capable Core winder Operator in our Tissue Making production department. PURPOSE: Make sure product changeover for different machines is performed to the industry standard practices. Different routine maintenance requirements for different machines are performed to specifications and optimal performance. Hazards associated with the different machines are identified and managed to the industry and statutory requirements. Start-up sequence for core winding machines is followed to the manufacturer specifications. Consumables and lubricants for core winding equipment are applied in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and standard industry practices. All operational documentation used in production is completed and reports submitted in accordance with standard practices. Produced core are tested for compliance with specification following industry practices. Dismantled core winding machine components are cleaned and marked according to workplace instructions. Basic Tissue Core Winder machine maintenance and lubrication is performed to ensure optimal functioning of all equipment during operation. Measuring instruments and equipment selected for use during specific assignments are fit for purpose and comply with job requirements. Material quality checked to job requirements and noncompliant material reported in accordance with worksite procedures. Hazards and safety features associated with the threading of materials are identified and explained in accordance with worksite procedures. Selected core materials are matched with final product specifications in accordance with workplace procedures. Maintenance associated with threading raw materials is completed in accordance with standard working procedures. All tools and equipment are maintained, used, and stored in accordance with standard procedures. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Able to follow strict operating procedures. Quality and continuous improvement orientated. Able to work well in a team environment. Flexible and able to work rotational shifts. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Grade 12 with Maths Technical qualification would be an advantage. Minimum of 3 year’s machine operating experience Experience ideally obtained in a manufacturing environment. Accuracy and high attention to detail Good communication skills Must be physically fit.
