Position: Die Corrector Location: Alrode Department: Die Shop Reports to: Die Shop Manager Applicable grade: A Available positions: 1 (Current main agreement rates apply Primary Duties: • Read section drawings and design drawings. • Extrusion dies to be corrected according to customer specifications and requirements. • Inspect new dies and ensure that they are made according to the design. • Organise and run trails. • Must be able to help at the presses to set-up and run problem dies. • Manage nitriding schedule. • Control the press schedule and ensure that problem and late dies complete their orders timeously. • Must be able to give feedback to Die-Manufacturer on any improvements to help the die performance. • Ensure good housekeeping and safety regulations are always adhered to. • Carry out other duties which you are instructed to do from time to time by your supervisor. • Applicants should take note that the shift system for these positions will be flexible and at management's discretion and could stretch from Wednesday / Thursday to Sunday. Preferred Qualification: Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent. Recognition of prior learning (experience) will also be considered. Preferred Excperiance: Engineering background and a minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Die Correcter in Aluminium extrusion process will be an advantage. Must be able to read, understand section and die design drawings. Be able to use die correcting tools, operate a milling machine and work with measuring equipment.
