Corruption Watch (CW) is a nonprofit, civil society organisation. CW receives reports of corruption from the public, investigates certain reports, exposes corruption through communications’ platforms and mobilises the public to take a stand against corruption and the abuse of public funds. Job Title: Lawyer for the organisation’s head of legal and investigations team Job Location: Johannesburg Responsibilities: Manage Corruption Watch’s legal and investigative work, influencing the legislative and policy framework governing corruption in South Africa, through amongst other things commenting on legislation and policies and writing opinion pieces, advising management on all legal issues affecting Corruption Watch’s work, and briefing counsel. Requirements: An LLB or equivalent Admission as an attorney or advocate of the High Court of South Africa Minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience Litigation experience Research and writing skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytic and problem solving skills Computer skills People and programme management, administrative and file management skills Ability to adapt in a fast changing environment Have experience/interest in anti-corruption work, constitutional, administrative, procurement and media law Financial management skills To apply, submit your covering letter motivating your application for the position, concise CV (not more than five pages) and three contactable work references (including email addresses) to [email protected] Application Deadline: 30th September, 2018
