Cost and Management Accountant - Centurion

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and alignment of inventory, costing strategies, and ERP system administration with the organization's financial goals. This multifaceted role requires a combination of accounting expertise, strong inventory management skills, and proficiency in ERP systems. Forex experience would be advantageous as some of the raw materials are imported from different regions around the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

Costing and Inventory Management:

  • Oversee and manage daily system inventory operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the GFM to maintain, develop, and implement costing and pricing models for products.
  • Analyze and maintain accurate inventory data, identifying trends and discrepancies.
  • Oversee regular stock counts and reconciliations in collaboration with the operations team.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate inventory-related data and recommend strategies to optimize stock levels.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, particularly in relation to inventory and cost of goods sold.
ERP System Administration:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the ERP system, ensuring optimal performance and utilization.
  • Support internal users, enhancing their proficiency, and addressing any system-related queries.
  • Collaborate with external support consultant to ensure the ERP system aligns with business needs, implementing upgrades or modifications as required.
  • Stay updated on the latest ERP trends, functionalities, and best practices.
  • Assist management in implementing ERP workflows, controls, and procedures.
Reporting & Analysis:
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and cost reports for senior management.
  • Analyze variances between actuals and forecasts, providing insights into potential areas of improvement.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist the GFM with due diligence studies and scenario analysis across all business areas.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Recommend and implement improvements in inventory and costing processes to drive efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process integration or automation, especially within the ERP system.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CIMA Managerial level is a minimum entry!!!

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Cost and Management Accountant.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales and distribution or related industry is preferable.
  • Strong Experience with ERP systems - Zoho, Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage Intacct. Power BI experience is a bonus.
  • Experience incorporating foreign currencies and freight costs into pricing/costing is essential!!!
