Capital Harvest , a leading agriculture finance company founded in 2006 and based in Stellenbosch, provides bespoke financial solutions to the agriculture sector. They specialise in relationship management, credit, and compliance tailored to agricultural financing, setting them apart from commercial banks with their unique approach to agricultural risks. As a Credit Analyst , you will be vital in performing detailed financial and production analyses of potential clients and supporting the credit application process. This role requires close collaboration with the Compliance team to ensure thorough and accurate evaluations. The ideal candidate will have experience in banking and financial services, with a focus on credit analysis, risk management, and financial product development. A background in finance, particularly in financial analysis, statement interpretation, and risk assessment for production or manufacturing within the agricultural sector, is also highly desirable. Credit Applications: Prepare and review credit applications and recommendations. Collect and verify credit information; liaise with the Admin Officer for inquiries and documentation. Support obtaining necessary security documents from Compliance. Draft preliminary facility letters. Financial and Production Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and interpret results. Prepare detailed production analyses and compare client assumptions with industry data. Make recommendations based on financial and production analyses. Credit Administration and Reporting: Collect and analyse monthly client reports and monitoring lists. Ensure approved applications and facility letters are properly filed. Follow up on outstanding security documents and handle ad-hoc credit projects. Support the credit team with month-end processes. System Administration and Compliance Support: Assist in obtaining client signatures on loan and security documents. Ensure all conditions in applications are met before disbursement. Maintain communication with clients for timely disbursement. Credit Risk Support: Draft call/warning letters for risk clients in collaboration with the risk department. Coordinate client transfers between credit and risk departments. Manage arrears and overdrafts with the credit manager. BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES Analytical Thinking: The ability to systematically evaluate financial data, identify trends, and make informed decisions based on thorough analysis. Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to reviewing financial documents, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy in financial assessments and reporting. Problem-Solving: Strong skills in identifying potential issues, developing effective solutions, and making recommendations to address financial or operational challenges. Adaptability: Flexibility to handle changing priorities, deal with unexpected challenges, and adapt to the dynamic nature of the agricultural sector. Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and relationship-building abilities to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and compliance teams, and to manage stakeholder expectations. Relevant BCom degree. 3-4 years' experience in a banking or financial services organisation. Strong background in credit analysis, risk management, and financial statement interpretation.
