This position for a suitably qualified and experienced Credit Controller is to provide an administrative service for customers' accounts in order to ensure accurate financial procedures, limit bad debts, take responsibility for all aspects of the debtors function and support the department's day to day accounting functions. Timeous collection of receivables, compliant to relevant laws and policies, dealing with credit applications Reconciling customer accounts, credit claims timeously identified and debtor days within company targets Minimise bad debt through proper credit management techniques, timeous and accurate transactions relating to bad debt Keeping insured debt figures up to date with relevant Credit insurance company and quarterly communication/reports to HQ on insured debt figures/reduced limits Preparation of dunning letters and dealing with handovers to attorneys Timeous completion of general ledger reconciliations and general ledger entries and assisting the financial department with accounting functions & non-inventory purchase orders on a day-to-day basis Monthly reports on overdue accounts, discount figures, claims ageing, top customers, staff accounts & debtor days Technical Skills A Tertiary qualification in Credit Management and an Accounting diploma will be beneficial 5-6 years' experience and proven track record in credit management and related accounting functions ( preferably in the animal health sector ) Good working knowledge of relevant acts (Credit Act, POPI Act & VAT Act) Good working knowledge of Credit Control, Credit Risk Management Computer Skills (Microsoft Office : Excel, Word, Powerpoint) & (Google Suite : Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms, Slides) Relevant experience on ERP systems (i.e. Movex) Full proficiency in English and Afrikaans is essential Good reconciliation and accounting skills Behavioural Skills Customer Focus Collaborates with others Communicate effectively Good copy writing skills Drives performance & results Demonstrate active listening and negotiation skills
