Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification Previous work experience in a hospital environment will be beneficial Flexible in working hours/Shifts The main purpose of this position: The CSSD technician's role is to assist the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide exemplary care in the CSSD by cleaning, sterilising and packing theatre instruments Duties & Responsibilities: Fold and Pack linen in the correct manner for sterilisation Wash and care for instruments according to the correct procedure Pack instrument sets and loose articles in the prescribed manner for sterilisation Ensure that all required instruments for procedures are sterile and ready for utilisation Checking functioning of sterilizing and decontamination equipment according to manufactures instructions Prepare self, equipment and materials safely for the tasks to be undertaken Undertake tasks as delegated and taught for that specific case working within level of competence Monitor repairs of instruments
