An organisation savvy about monitoring the solvency and financial soundness of medical schemes requires a Senior Data Analyst to join their team and conduct research and monitor trends to improve policies and practices through the analysis of the financial and non-financial indicators to inform policy initiatives and recommend interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring trends evaluation of data, conducting research.
- Compiling updated rates, and updating industry reports.
- Provide support in data collection, analysis, creation of data specification, presentation of information and report writing activities.
- Provide inputs during the design project phase.
- Co-ordinating the data collection process.
- Piloting the survey tool as the participant liaison and monitoring responses.
- Provide inputs and quality assurance to the analysis of utilisation and statistics.
- Review and monitor trends in utilisation statistics.
- Provide agreed input to the other CMS functions for improved risk-based regulation.
- Monitoring trends to improve regulatory policy and practices.
- Review data specifications, technical guidelines and validations and workshop/pilot with the industry.
- Coordinate the collection of data and liaise with schemes.
- Review data submission through data cleaning and intersystem validation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate Diploma/Honours degree in Operations Research or Statistics
- A minimum of 7 years working experience, 5 years of which must be in a research environment
- 3 years in a Healthcare environment, data management and analysis at specialist or supervisory level
- Qualitative and Quantitative research experience
- Analytical skills and proficiency in related tools (e.g. Excel, SAS, STATA or SPSS, SQL)
