What you'll be doing if you get the job: As a Data Analyst at you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to provide valuable insights and support strategic decision-making within the organization. You will collaborate closely with various teams across the company, to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities that drive operational efficiency and improve customer experience. Who'll you report to: You'll be based within our Information and Communication Technology division at our Sandton, Johannesburg head office. You'll report to the Manager: ICT. Your knowledge: • Data Collection and Processing: Gather and consolidate data from multiple sources, including internal databases, external APIs, and third-party vendors. Cleanse, validate, and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. • Data Analysis and Visualization: Utilize statistical techniques and data mining algorithms to analyse large datasets and extract meaningful insights. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within the data to inform business decisions. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to understand business requirements and priorities. Provide analytical support and insights to assist in the development and implementation of business initiatives and process improvements. Your Skills • Team player: Collaborating and working effectively with team members and other departments to achieve shared goals and foster a positive team environment. • Process champion: Advocating for efficient and effective processes within the ICT team, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing process enhancements. Root cause analysis. • Customer champion: Ensuring that ICT solutions and services meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers and championing a customer-centric approach within the ICT team. • Risk mitigator: Identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities within ICT systems and processes, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring business continuity. Ability to resolve problems at database level. • Solutioner: Analysing business requirements and translating them into feasible ICT solutions, evaluating options, and recommending appropriate technologies. Stress management. • Knowledge manager: Promoting knowledge sharing and best practices within the ICT team, establishing knowledge management processes, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. • Relationship builder: Developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, and external partners, to foster collaboration and achieve shared objectives. Your Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in Data analyst are advantageous. • Relevant certifications or training in Excel. • Proven experience in Data Analytics, preferably within the ICT or insurance sector. Your Experience • Strong Organisational and multitasking abilities: The capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize responsibilities while maintaining structure and meeting deadlines. • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The ability to convey information clearly, listen effectively, and interact harmoniously with colleagues and stakeholders. • Proficiency in office software, including MS Office suite: Expertise in utilising tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for enhanced productivity and effective data management. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive Information: The skill to handle confidential data with discretion, ensuring security and adherence to privacy regulations.
