Reference: JHB000548-EM-1 Ride the Data Wave: Become Our Next Streaming Platform Engineer. Our client is looking for a Data Streaming Platform Engineer on fixed term contract. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology ITIL certification, process knowledge and work experience 5 years experience relevant experience Experience in developing solutions on public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS Experience with Container Orchestration Platforms e.g., Kubernetes Experience of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Terraform, Ansible) Experience with GitOps technologies such as ArgoCD or Flux Expertise with Helm in deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes clusters BI Tools experience Sound knowledge in Kotlin, Java or JavaScript or Python or C# Familiarity with Microservices Architectures, Cloud Architectures or Container Architectures e.g., Docker Sound experience in developing backend applications and services Architecture and Interface Design Fit for business purpose mind-set, i.e., the solutions provided must meet the business goals Understanding of integration between different technologies Knowledge of event streaming e.g., Apache Kafka Data modelling and Database technologies (relational, document, graph, time series, geolocation), e.g., Postgres, Influx Duties: Running business critical services in cloud environments in accordance with the agreed hours of operation within a shift model Usage of automation tools to monitor and observe software reliability in the supported environment Handing of incidents and changes in accordance with the defined Service Level Agreements Work in a team environment to improve services throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle Managing projects / processes Support Product in an Agile approach by proactively managing assigned User Story's in-line with the organisational Agile Working Model Supports the Product owner to shape the Product roadmap Coordination between development and support environments Assisting with the business cases Requirements management: Eliciting requirements Translating and simplifying requirements Document requirements in appropriate format depending on methodology followed Planning and monitoring Communication Assist with identification and management of risks Monthly
