Job Title: Data Scientist

Salary: R25 000 – R30 000 CTC.

The Data Scientist role is pivotal in optimizing data value through extraction, collection, analysis, and dissemination of information from various sources. Leveraging Big Data/Data Science technologies, you'll design, develop, and maintain projects, employing machine learning techniques, data mining, and anomaly detection systems.

Overview of Roles and Responsibilities:

Apply advanced data science techniques to solve complex problems in a scientifically robust manner.
Identify and construct appropriate models for data analysis.
Implementing and monitoring model performance in operational environments.
Explore large datasets, both structured and unstructured, to uncover insights for operational efficiency and strategy enhancement.
Present data and model findings in a manner that drives actionable insights.
Enhance processes and databases where opportunities for improvement arise.
Communicate technical content effectively both internally and to clients.
Foster collaboration within the team, sharing knowledge and fostering growth.
Innovate to enhance market share and deliver reusable solutions.
Utilize advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to optimize decisioning systems.
Develop, deploy, and monitor machine learning models in production environments.
Utilize advanced data analysis to provide insights and recommendations to business stakeholders.
Translate business requirements into analytical objectives.
Collaborate with various teams to understand specific requirements.
Deliver reports and dashboards on key performance metrics to stakeholders.
Transform data and insights into meaningful visualizations to drive strategic decision-making.
Adhere to departmental and company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
Undertake any other duties as reasonably expected by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

University degree in Computer Science or related field.
Up to 2yrs relevant experience.
Experience in quantitative model building is advantageous.
Proficiency in programming for data science or analytics is advantageous.
Experience implementing ML/DL solutions on both cloud platforms and on-premise environments is advantageous.
Candidates must have scored 70% on all mathematics/statistical relevant subjects. A statement of results must be included in the CV.
