Duties & Responsibilities: Database design, maintenance, security, and integrity Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery Database risk and security management Change control between environments Database space management, including backup restore Enforce standards, policies & procedures relating to data, change control, performance optimization, indexes & best practices Perform requests for the import and export of data Check & test performance, indexes, and best practice Update data base dictionary documentation Analyse, design and integrate data from all systems Plan, analyse and design involvement in all data conversions Monitor Service Desk queue and manage incidents, requests and problems experienced with the database, within agreed SLA Troubleshoot incidents to restore service quickly with minimal business impact Backups/Jobs Monitoring Monitor and ensure availability of databases Implement monitoring to trigger alerts for database related issues Input in designing database backup, archiving and storage strategy Requirements Formal Education: IT related degree/diploma Microsoft Certification (MCSA – Database Development & Administration) Experience: IT experience: 5 years DBA: 2-5 years ITIL Insurance industry experience: 2 – 3 years (advantage) Cloud computing with SQL Server: 2-3 years (advantage) Apply Now
