Location: Cape Town (2 days in-office and 3 days remote) Contract Type: Permanent Job Summary: The Delivery Manager at Construct is a seasoned professional responsible for leading and managing projects within the organization, including people management to foster the growth of our project managers. The Delivery Manager assumes authority and accountability for the successful delivery of a portfolio of profitable projects, client satisfaction, and fostering strong relationships with project teams, clients, and stakeholders. The Delivery Manager is a problem solver, a team lead for project managers, and an effective communicator with a high level of emotional intelligence suited to a fast-paced, fluid organization. Delivery Management Lead and manage portfolio projects, ensuring accountability for outcomes, timelines, budgets, and quality, with collaboration across departments being crucial. Demonstrate advanced commercial reasoning, understanding how changes in timeline, budget, and quality impact revenue forecasted and recognized. Conduct financial analysis and reporting for portfolio projects. Work closely with Account Directors and other Heads to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. After project initiation, transition responsibility of the project to the Project Manager. Cultivate strong client relationships, managing their needs and expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Foster inter-departmental collaboration to achieve project and organizational goals. Ensure each project has up-to-date project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client requirements. Monitor project progress, providing guidance and support to Project Managers in project execution, risk management, and issue resolution. Ensure effective communication and reporting to stakeholders, catering to both commercial and project excellence-focused audiences. Act as a point of escalation for client and internal issues and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. Role specific escalations to go through their respective line manager. Implement and adhere to project management methodologies, processes, and best practices to drive consistency and improve project delivery efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhanced efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction. Monitor project health, resourcing, and planning, providing regular reports and updates on portfolio status to the management team. Collaborate with the sales team to identify and drive new opportunities: develop proposals with sales and client stakeholders; gather scope of work requirements, estimates and costing. People Management and Skills Proven track record of successfully overseeing portfolios (in terms of size and value) of projects on time, within budget, and meeting client expectations within the EdTech space. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment. Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, supporting their professional development and growth. Line manage up to five direct reports, aiding in their success and growth. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional, multi-location project teams; and a track record of managing numerous direct reports. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Sound understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and processes, with the ability to adapt to various project environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset to drive project success. Requirements 10 years work experience, with 5 years in Project Management. Degree with a business or commercial background Project Management accreditation/qualification an advantage. Proficient in project management software and tools.
