PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To receive production from the Mills, stacking or despatching to different locations and loading to outside customers. QUALIFICATIONS: Grade 12. National Diploma in logistics / supply chain management will be an advantage. KNOWLEDGE Product knowledge Despatch systems knowledge COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Controlling, Independent Minded, Data Rational, Evaluative, detail Conscious, Conscientious, Rule Following and Vigorous. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA) Ensure the efficient supervision of the receipt of coils, bars and sections in the warehouse. 1.1. Coils are labelled correctly. 1.2 Coils are correctly tied, in a good state, loaded onto a trailer and transferred to the correct locations. 1.3 Bars / sections bundles labelled and stacked correctly. 1.4 Supervise and control all mobile equipment e.g. tractor, trailers, cranes. 1.5 Correct loading of material from the Mills according to the pick note. 1.6 The receiving and stacking of straightened material from Off-Line. Loading of material on trucks to outside customers. (24 Hours) 2.1 Receive pre invoiced consignment note from Despatch controller and keep it in a safe place. 2.2 Select correct material to be despatched as per pick note and capture material loaded on the pick note. 2.3 Calculate production weight and theoretical weight, complete invoiced consignment note, should be signed by the driver. 2.4 Match weighbridge ticket, pack list, pick note and copy of the consignment note, forward to Davsteel office. 2.5 Visually check quality and correctness of material loaded. 2.6 Ensure the transfer of binding wire to both mills. 2.7 Ensuring the scanning and separation of SADEC loads. 2.8 Assisting in the scanning and loading exports on trucks and containers. 2.9 Operate remote crane at off line to load straightened material for outside customers Ensure the implementation of safe working procedures and housekeeping principles. 3.1 Ensure the necessary safety equipment is used. 3.2 Adherence to general health and safety principles. 3.3 Issuing of all protected clothing and equipment. 3.4 Ensuring that regular safety inspections and meetings are done. Ensure the efficient implementation of people management principles. 4.1 Managing people e.g. discipline, training and development, time sheets, leave forms. 4.2 Attending Foremen's meetings, Safety meetings, Shift meetings and AMC2 meetings. 4.3 Completing a shift report. Performs other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned by management when necessary.
