What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it): As the Development Project Manager (Wheeling), you will oversee the entire lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from site identification to financial close. You will manage the development process for wheeling projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory, permitting, commercial, technical, and financial requirements. Your role will involve leveraging your robust network with Eskom and other stakeholders to drive project success. You will coordinate and collaborate with internal and external resources, ensuring all aspects of the project are aligned for optimal execution. What you'll need: You will need a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with advanced degrees or certifications in renewable energy or project management being preferred. A PMP certification is advantageous. A successful track record in wheeling development projects and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a similar role, are required. You should have excellent knowledge of the South African energy market, including regulatory frameworks and policies, and solid understanding of technical aspects and EPC and PPA contracts. Proficiency in financial analysis, project financing, and ROI calculations is a plus. Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and travel to project sites as required.
