DevOps Engineer - Johannesburg

This is a remote position. We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team and lead our client's re-engineering of their system. As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with the development and operations teams to identify, plan and execute the re-engineering of our client's system. Requirements Responsibilities: Work with development and operations teams to identify and prioritize areas for improvement and re-engineering. Design, implement and manage scalable and secure infrastructure solutions. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and configuration management tools. Ensure that the system is highly available, fault-tolerant and can scale to meet increasing demands. Implement and manage monitoring, logging and alerting solutions. Identify and mitigate security risks and ensure that the system is compliant with industry regulations and standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. Mentor and train other members of the team. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. 5 years of experience in DevOps or related field. Strong experience in cloud infrastructure i.e Azure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab. Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Ruby. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Nice-to-have: Experience with serverless architecture and microservices. Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform. Familiarity with both Agile methodologies.
