Experience: Appropriate cleaning experience in a health environment. Inherent requirement of the job Ability to communicate in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of Standard Precautions of Infection Prevention and Control. Good communication skills. DUTIES General cleaning and maintenance (dusting, vacuuming, polishing, scrubbing, mopping). Ensure that cleaning equipment e.g., polishing and scrubbing machines, mops, brooms, buckets etc. are clean after usage and securely stored, according to Infection control standards. Effectively use cleaning agents and stock as well as elementary stock control. Management of linen and segregation of waste. Responsible for a general hygienic and safe environment in line with Infection Control Standards and procedures, including the SEAT.
