Distribution Manager - Manufacturing Industry - Cape Town Region

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a Distribution Manager to join our client in the Manufacturing Industry. As a Distribution Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the distribution operations within the company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient distribution processes from start to finish. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic distribution plans and processes to optimize efficiency Coordinate and collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products Oversee inventory management and ensure accuracy in stock levels Maintain knowledge of industry trends and regulations related to distribution and logistics Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate favorable contracts Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve distribution performance Lead and manage a team of distribution staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development Participate in forecasting activities and contribute to the development of production plans Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all distribution activities Requirements Tertiary qualification degree/diploma in logistics Minimum 10 - 15 years distribution and warehousing experience in a FMCG environment within a large distribution centre environment - essential. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management position (managing a workforce of more than 50) Proven track record of successfully implementing operational best practices in a distribution and warehousing environment. Minimum 5 years WMS experience is essential. ERP systems knowledge and experience, with JDE preferable. Proficient in Microsoft office, specifically Excel.
