Description Our client is looking for a Modelling Draftsperson to join their company in the Manufacturing Industry. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Create detailed technical drawings and models of products or components that will be manufactured. Create 3D models of products or components to be used to test the design, identify any potential issues, and make necessary adjustments before moving on to manufacturing. Communicate design intent. Accurately represent and communicate the design intent and specifications in drawings and models to ensure that the manufacturing team understands the requirements and can produce the final product to meet the required standards and specifications. Ensure manufacturability. Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that the design can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effectively. Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement. Ensure all models and drawings are accurate and up to date. This includes making any necessary revisions and keeping track of changes throughout the design process. MINIMUM ENTRY-LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree in Drafting, Engineering design or a related discipline Three or more years experience Training in 3D modelling software Training in AutoCAD is an added advantage ESSENTIAL ENTRY-LEVEL KNOWLEDGE: Technical knowledge : A strong understanding of the technical principles and concepts related to the engineering field, such as mechanics, materials science, and design principles. Proficiency in CAD (computer-aided design) software: Software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor, to create detailed 2D and 3D models. Also, should have general computer skills. Mathematics skills : An understanding of mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry, is important for creating accurate technical drawings and models. Attention to detail : Excellent attention to detail to ensure that technical drawings and models are accurate and meet the necessary standards. Effective Communication skills: To be able to collaborate with designers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that the design intent and specifications are accurately represented in the drawings and models. Ability to learn quickly : Should be able to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and software programs as they are introduced in the industry.
